Empowering communities by providing sustainable, hygienic, and affordable meals, all while supporting local employment and environmental initiatives.
More about SOSThe SOS Tiffin Service, initiated by MBA student Manohar under the supervision of Dr. Naveen Gupta (Director of HIMCS, Behavioral Scientist, Trainer, Management Consultant, and Therapist),, is an environment-friendly initiative that provides delicious, healthy, and hygienic food to the needy. It started during the pandemic and has been a source of employment and sustenance for the community.
"Right now, we are offering 5 chapatis, 1 plate of vegetables, 1 bowl of dal, and 1 bowl of rice in a tiffin, available for the needy at just ₹35. The service operates between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and 05:00 pm to 07:00 pm."
SOS Tiffin Service is committed to environmental sustainability. Manohar's initiative collects plastic bottles filled with wrappers from households using the tiffin service. In return, customers receive a ₹5 discount on their next tiffin. The bottles are then repurposed to create eco-friendly bricks and furniture for rural communities.
The SOS Tiffin Service not only provides food but also offers employment opportunities to family members of auto drivers who lost their jobs during the tourism downturn. Currently, five women from the auto drivers' families are involved in preparing chapatis, receiving ₹2 per chapati as compensation.
SOS Tiffin Service aims to expand its operations to cities such as Mathura, Firozabad, Jaipur, and Dholpur. The primary goal is to provide food to all in need while offering employment to those affected by the pandemic, especially those connected with the tourism industry like auto drivers, porters, and taxi drivers.
